Connie has over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, specializing in programming, management, and teaching for special populations and mind-body fitness.
Connie has been teaching and practicing Pilates for over 25 years. Through personal experience, she found that Pilates was the best kind of therapy for a back injury she had been dealing with for years. After rehabbing her injury, she continued practicing Pilates and found that she was stronger, leaner and had greater flexibility that ever before. As a result, she committed herself to learning how to bring this movement modality to others. Her first certification was through the PhysicalMind Institute in New York City, continued her education through Peak Pilates of Boulder, Colorado, and is a certified Second Generation Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master Teacher.
In her New York studio, and later in her studios in Florida, Connie has successfully trained a broad-spectrum of clients. While working with chiropractors, physical therapists, and athletic trainers she has gained extensive experience in both post-rehab training and training for elite athletes. She has specialty certification and expertise in Pre/Post Natal exercise, and has worked with OB/GYNs to physically prepare mothers for birth and beyond. Connie’s passion for and expertise in mind/body fitness have helped hundreds of students develop healthier lifestyles and stronger, more efficient, bodies.
A 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and a practicing yogi for over 30 years, Connie has assisted and studied with many notable yoga teachers. She has studied the Astanga Yoga tradition extensively with Beryl Bender Birch, author of Power Yoga and Beyond Power Yoga. A certified Astanga Power Yoga teacher, Connie also studied the Anusara methodology of yoga with Todd Norian, completing an arduous 400-hour teacher training.
As a Level 4 Mentor and Teacher Trainer for Peak Pilates, Connie is dedicated to training other teachers to teach this specialized form of exercise, and mentors other teachers in their continuing education process. As part of Peak Pilates Leadership team, Connie assists in programming, educational courses and workshops, and continuing education, to train the next generation of Pilates teachers.
National Academy of Sports Medicine certified Personal Trainer, and by ACE and AFAA in Group Exercise and Personal Training, Connie is originally from New York, where she managed group ex and personal training departments in area health clubs and conducted continuing education workshops for fitness instructors nationwide, while pursuing her own passion for mind/body fitness.
Connie presents dynamic workshops, lectures, and teacher trainings nationally in pilates, yoga, and pre/post natal exercise, and is a sought after expert in her field.
